What if being healthy was easy?

By August 5, 2022No Comments

HeyHey! It’s Jeff at MaxStrength Fitness. In this video, I’m going to talk about something that almost instantly lowers my stress level. I swear I can feel the muscles in my shoulders relax when I give myself permission to do this ONE THING. And I hope it has the same effect on you…But before I get into the details, if you don’t already know me I’m Jeff Tomaszewski with MaxStrength Fitness, and we help men and women just like you reverse the aging process in only 20 minutes Twice a Week without breaking a sweat!OK … now for that stress reliever …Think about this question for a minute …What would your health and fitness look like if it were easy?

That fact is, most of us LOVE to make things complicated. It’s so common there’s even a term for it: “complexity bias.” Complexity bias is when you decide to make a change in almost any area of your life, and all of a sudden you start thinking about ways to make that change even BETTER or MORE EFFECTIVE.So you start layering in some new rules or extra guidelines to add “juice” to your results. Have you ever done that?

I know I used to. It can lead you down the rabbit hole of “I should try that” and “I should try this.”Here’s an example:

When it comes to your Nutrition

Simple is when you follow author Michael Pollan’s advice to “eat food, not too much, mostly plants.”

Complex is when you end up counting every macro of every food that crosses your lips, or searching for the elusive but “perfect” intermittent fasting ratio for your body and routine. When it comes to your Fitness
Simple is strength training at MaxStrength Fitness for 20 minutes Twice a week without breaking a sweat. Complex is arranging your schedule so you can get in 30 minutes of fasted cardio first thing in the morning and strength training after work. If we have to choose between those two options, the simple or the complicated, we usually choose the complicated one. The problem with that is it can be REALLY hard to keep up with over time. Don’t get me wrong. Complex choices aren’t BAD, especially if they make you feel more accomplished or if you’re training for a big event. But if they make you feel stressed, overwhelmed, or get in the way of being consistent, then it’s time to streamline and get SIMPLE.

You can do that by focusing on the simplest results-getting actions that:

•    work with your lifestyle and your schedule,
    •    include activities and/or food you enjoy. And another huge way to simplify it all is to work with an experienced coach who can custom-fit a program that works for YOU and your LIFE. The most important thing is that you choose actions that help you stay CONSISTENT! We’re here to help. You can request a free initial consultation and demo workout at maxstrengthfitness.com Thank you so much for watching and until next time be strong, eat clean and live well!!
